GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Industrial Electrician is responsible for the safe and efficient installation, maintenance and repair of electrical equipment and machinery. This role is required to follow electrical code, manuals, specifications, schematic diagrams, and blueprints to adhere to all safety electrical standards. To minimize downtime routine preventative maintenance will be required per assigned shift. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES: N/A ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Troubleshooting, predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance, and repairing PLC’s, VFD’s, Instrumentation and Controls, electrical equipment, motors, motor control centers, switch gears, lighting circuits and fixtures, running conduit, and wiring all types of new electrical/controls installations. Coordinates all assignments with the appropriate people to ensure safety, environmental, quality, and production needs are met and exceeded. Repair, replace and install sensors, actuators, transformers, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, electric eyes, conduit systems, switches, defective writing, etc. Disassembles, inspects, reassembles, troubleshoots, repairs, and replaces malfunctioning parts or equipment (motors, switches, sensors, input /output boards, controllers’ servos, gears, sprockets chains, knives, etc. using test equipment. Troubleshoot and repair a diverse range of electrical equipment throughout the mill (Example: Instrumentation circuits, motor control circuits up to 13.8 kilovolts, low and medium voltage drives, monitoring analyzers) Must be able to work closely with operations, supervision, and peers. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, electrical schematics, blueprints, one lines, loop drawings, etc. Ability to write, edit and use SOP’s, Lockout Tagout procedures, and makes recommendations for modifying PM job plans throughout the facility, etc. Must strive to improve reliability of the plant equipment through better uses of technology and precision work practices. Available at any time requested to assist in the response to emergencies, assist with investigations, electrical failures, damage to property, fire losses, etc. Be a safety leader with solid safety behaviors and demonstrated leadership while working with others to achieve the site safety plan’s goal of being a zero-injury workplace; knowledge & understanding of the 10 Life Saving Rules. Basic troubleshooting of Motor Control Centers, switch gears, thermal overloads and motor starters. Maintain and install electrical equipment. Assists with the planning, prioritizing, and scheduling of electrical maintenance with input from supervision based on operational need. Ability to follow work order instructions, acquire, and return spare parts using plant CMMS systems and provide written and verbal comments and feedback after any work is performed. Performs other related projects and assignments as business dictates.
