About The Position

Golden Queen Mining Co., LLC (the “Company”) operates a gold and silver, open pit, heap leach operation on its Soledad Mountain property, located just outside the town of Mojave in Kern County in southern California. The Project uses conventional open pit mining methods and the cyanide heap leach and Merrill-Crowe processes to recover gold and silver from crushed, agglomerated ore. Golden Queen Mining Company is looking for an Industrial Electrician to install, test, and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, motors, equipment and control systems. The right candidate will have base electrical skills and understanding of electrical drawings. Comfortable working with three phase medium distribution voltage controls systems. Must have knowledge of standard PPE required for performing electrical work & when to use Arc Flash PPE. Complete understanding of LOTO. The candidate will require aptitude for troubleshooting MCC buckets, across-the-line motor controls, soft starts, motors, belt scales, control systems and basic understanding of PLC’s. This is a safety-sensitive position. This position is for an Electrician 1. Employee will start at an entry level with the expectation of continuing to improve in the field of industrial electrician. Employee will be required to meet and exceed certain goals and expectations to be considered for advancement to the next level. Prior to advancing, employee will demonstrate the ability to: Read and understand plans and specifications, electrical diagrams, cable and conduit schedules. Produce quality work, meeting requirements of NEC, Cal/OSHA specifications of industry standards. Ability to properly use electrical tools, and electrical meters. Employee will demonstrate the ability to properly attain & understand electrical equipment manuals. Ability to properly assist with troubleshooting and repairing all essential electrical equipment. Ability to calibrate conveyor belt scales. Ability to perform preventive maintenance, equipment inspection such as assured grounding, throughout the plant. Employee will demonstrate the ability to assist with emergency repairs on any electrical equipment with minimum downtime needed. Along with demonstrating specific skills, it will be required to build troubleshooting knowledge of facility electrical equipment. Work well with colleagues in all departments.

Requirements

1-2+ years of industrial electrician experience preferred.
Base understanding of crushers, conveyors and various industrial equipment, etc.
Must be punctual, reliable and have good attendance.
Able to follow instructions.
Valid Driver License.
High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Mining experience a plus.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair various electrical equipment throughout the plant.
Maintain accurate documentation including inspection forms, work orders, and daily task reports
Provide detailed end-of-shift updates outlining troubleshooting efforts and completed repairs
Responsible for providing good quality work on installations, and or repairs of electrical equipment.
Must have and maintain personal & company electrical tools.
Complete repairs efficiently and in a timely manner.
Follow all company Safety and Environmental Procedures and Rules mandated by MSHA.
