About The Position

The Electrical Wiring Technician is responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing electrical panels, control systems, and automation equipment according to engineering schematics and industry standards. This role ensures that all electrical components are installed safely, accurately, and efficiently to support automated machinery and industrial control systems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or technical certificate in Electrical Technology or related field.
  • 2+ years in electrical wiring, preferably in industrial automation or control systems.
  • Proficient in reading electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical components and wiring techniques.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, sensors, and industrial control hardware.
  • Ability to use hand tools, crimping tools, and multimeters safely.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in manufacturing or industrial environments.

Responsibilities

  • Panel Wiring & Assembly
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.
  • Wire control panels, junction boxes, and automation cabinets according to design specifications.
  • Install components such as PLCs, relays, circuit breakers, power supplies, and terminal blocks.
  • Cable Management
  • Cut, strip, crimp, and terminate wires and cables using proper tools and techniques.
  • Route wiring neatly and securely, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Testing & Troubleshooting
  • Perform continuity checks, insulation resistance tests, and functional testing of wired systems.
  • Diagnose and correct wiring issues, component failures, or misconfigurations.
  • Compliance & Documentation
  • Ensure all work meets electrical codes (e.g., NEC) and company standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of wiring changes, test results, and component specifications.
  • Collaboration
  • Work closely with engineers, automation technicians, and project managers to meet deadlines.
  • Provide feedback on design improvements and wiring best practices.
