About The Position

We’re looking for a hands-on Electrical Test Technician to join a forward-thinking energy solutions team in Chattanooga, TN. In this role, you’ll support the initial power-up and testing of modular electrical units , verifying functionality and ensuring everything is operating as intended before programming is installed. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong electrical and troubleshooting experience who is also looking to grow into a leadership role over time. You’ll work inside a temperature-controlled test environment , powering up brand-new, state-of-the-art equipment and methodically checking for issues or defects. While you’ll have support from the local team, the role requires a strong sense of independence, problem-solving ability, and a proactive approach to troubleshooting.

Requirements

• Strong background in electrical maintenance , troubleshooting, and testing
• Ability to interpret electrical documentation (schematics, PLCs, HMIs)
• Familiarity with automation systems and some logic editing experience preferred
• Prior experience working with meters, voltage checks, and resistance tests
• Comfortable working independently and communicating with clients when issues arise

Responsibilities

• Power up equipment for the first time and confirm voltage levels prior to program installation
• Follow pre-established test protocols and checklists step by step
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, PLC diagrams, and HMI layouts
• Use meters to check resistance, continuity, and voltage
• Troubleshoot issues in real-time and collaborate directly with clients to resolve them
• Work on one unit at a time, with about 2 weeks allocated per test cycle
