If you are an Electrical Engineer grad looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Shakopee, MN location, as an Electrical Test Engineer you will work directly within the R D department and play a significant role in the development of our next generation of sensor products as well as improving existing products. This is a unique role in engineering that requires working cross-functionally with all aspects of product development and manufacturing. You will be trained to become an architect for new test capabilities and automation in our design laboratories as well as our manufacturing sites. You will develop valuable career skills in resource planning, coordination, and leadership. You will participate in planning for the future of Emerson's test automation for manufacturing test and design assurance.

  • Develop in-depth experience in areas of technology relevant to testing of Emerson's products.
  • Assist in planning and architecting new test automation methods and equipment for manufacturing test as well as design assurance.
  • Directly support test development activities within a cross-functional team of design, manufacturing, and test engineers and technicians.
  • Support hardware and software requirements definition and then assist in defining resources, equipment, and schedules for test automation projects.
  • Write moderately complex software programs to operate as standalone systems or to support larger systems as subroutines.
  • Verify new and existing test systems meet requirements through analysis, simulation, and laboratory measurement.
  • Assist in acceptance testing and provide evidence to engineering peers that new product designs meet or exceed their specification requirements and customers' needs.
  • Periodically assist manufacturing operators and technicians in setting up and operating manual or automated test systems as well as performing test system adjustments and alignments.
  • Facilitate design reviews and collaborate with other engineering disciplines.
  • Perform all types of electric and electronic measurements using laboratory equipment.
  • Perform statistical analysis of laboratory and manufacturing test results and report findings to engineering peers.
  • Develop procedures for mechanical and electronic preventive maintenance, calibration, or periodic verifications of manufacturing and test systems.
  • Troubleshoot Emerson systems and circuits to a functional block or component level.
