About The Position

AP4 Controls Solutions is seeking an Electrical Technician AP4 specializes in turbine, control and excitation parts and services to keep your power plant operational. Our mission is simple: keep your legacy power assets running, no matter what. We are currently seeking qualified Electrical Technicians to join our team! The Electrical Technician (ET) is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment and systems. The ET is also responsible for the safety of all employees in the plant by ensuring that all electrical equipment is up to code and safe to use. The ET works closely with plant maintenance personnel and AP4 field engineers to ensure that all electrical equipment is properly maintained and repaired in a timely manner. This position is remote but requires frequent travel throughout the United States. Only candidates currently authorized to work in the United States will be considered.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in electrical engineering or equivalent related field experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as an electrician in an industrial setting preferred.
  • Power plant experience with GE controls, excitation, and LCI systems.
  • Strong understanding of electrical theory and principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Working knowledge of electrical code requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Advance troubleshooting skills.
  • Responding to emergency calls after hours is required.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing work demands.

Nice To Haves

  • Electrician and/or I&C skillsets are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, clean, and troubleshoot all types of electrical equipment, including but not limited to circuit cards, controllers, instrumentation, starters, switches, relays, fuses, buss bars, circuit breakers, etc.
  • Upgrade, modify, repair, and commission turbine and generator control systems in power plant facilities.
  • Work with high and low voltage AC/DC systems.
  • Read and interpret equipment blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
  • Assist AP4 Field Engineers as required.
  • Ensure all electrical work is completed safely and meets all code requirements.
  • Keep accurate records of all work performed and time spent on each job.
  • Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment and tools.
  • Assist and support all lock out tag out activities (LOTO).
