About The Position

Vistra is seeking electricians to support the maintenance team at the Odessa-Ector Power Plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, repair, testing, and preventive maintenance on plant electrical systems

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent, trade school, military service training programs, or tech training.
  • 3-5 years maintenance experience in power generation facilities or similar industrial facilities/field.
  • Must possess basic math skills, good verbal communications skills, and be proficient with the use of power and precision tools.
  • Must have knowledge of Safety and Environment rules as they relate to electrical maintenance
  • Working knowledge of CMMS.
  • Experience working on both AC and DC power.
  • Level of position will be determined by applicable skills/experience
  • Will be required to successfully complete POSS/MASS test
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, and work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to ascend and descend ladders
  • Lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks in an industrial environment.
  • Work in hot, cold, and noisy environments as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional professional training preferred.
  • Familiarity with Maximo preferred
  • Additional experience with machinery repair and control systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on breakers, switch gear, switch yards, motor control centers, AC & DC circuitry, electrical disconnect, transformers, lighting panels, HVAC, UPS, batteries, charger, inverters and VFD’s.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems in systems, read and interpret online diagrams, electrical protection schemes, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and vendor service manuals.
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults and restore equipment safely
  • Test and calibrate protective relays, meters, and monitoring equipment
  • Document maintenance activities, test results, and equipment conditions in CMMS
  • Support plant outage activities as required
  • Assist in development and administration of the Lock-Out-Tag-Out program.
  • Ensures strict adherence to safety, health, and environmental procedures as they relate to plant operations and maintenance including but not limited to Lockout Tagout, Job Safety Analysis, Confined Space, Hot Work, Electrical Safety and PPE.
  • Will be on a rotating call-out schedule
