About The Position

The Electrical Technician role involves assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical systems and components. This position is crucial for ensuring that equipment operates accurately and safely, contributing to the overall efficiency of operations.

Requirements

• Previous electrical technician experience required.
• A technical degree or certification is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other instructions written or verbal.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
• Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment screening.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
• Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment and connect cables and wires between machines and equipment.
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
• Replace faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, and motors, and position sensing devices.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, ensuring compliance with codes.
• Replace electric motor bearings and rewire motors.
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety of the system.
• Maintain a clean work area, returning equipment and tools at the end of the day.
• Assist other departments and functions as needed.
