About The Position
IKO Industries Ltd. is a global leader in the manufacturing of roofing products, and we are currently seeking an Industrial Electrician to join our skilled team at our Sylacauga, Alabama plant. This facility specializes in producing premium roofing shingles and composite rolled roofing through a high-speed, continuous asphalt shingle manufacturing process. The successful candidate will be a fully qualified electrician capable of maximizing plant performance and uptime by troubleshooting and repairing electrical equipment while adhering to all safety regulations and IKO's core values of quality, integrity, and trustworthiness. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting various distribution and control equipment, including switches, relays, circuit breakers, and fuse disconnects. You will manage assigned work orders, troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment, and collaborate with other maintenance personnel in a team setting. Proficiency in working with computers, line drives, and PLCs is essential, as is the ability to run conduit and knowledge of relevant electrical codes. You will also need to understand and comply with all safety rules, including Lock, Tag, and Verify protocols, and be able to comprehend and utilize technical manuals and schematics. The position requires effective organization of your work area, tools, and parts, as well as the ability to work with minimal supervision while managing multiple jobs with varying priorities. Additionally, the role is subject to 24-hour call-out, and you may be required to work shifts and weekends. Physical demands include the ability to stand for long periods, climb stairs, and work in high areas.
