About The Position

Arconic is currently in search of Electrical Technical Specialist to join Tennessee Operations based in Alcoa, TN . Job Summary: The Electrical Technical Specialist will provide technical troubleshooting skills for maintenance and operations to restore product flow, as well as provide technical leadership and training to craft employees. The person in this role is also expected to provide technical solutions to recurring design, process, and application problems, and analyze equipment and process data to identify opportunities and develop solutions and system improvements. They will assist the maintenance department in short and long-term outage planning and assist supervisors and crafts in following up on VPM issues and items from the daily management action register. This person would also be expected to develop, manage, and implement small capital projects, major repairs and maintenance projects, and provide process engineering support. Shift : 12-hour Night Shift, 6:00pm-6:00am, but the successful candidate will train on day shift before going to the night shift schedule.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with electrical systems and controls utilized in industrial applications.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
  • 5 years of experience with working knowledge of manufacturing processes and principles.
  • 5 years’ experience in product and process failure analysis and an understanding of world class manufacturing techniques such as lean manufacturing, FMEA, RCM SPC, TQM, etc.
  • Experience in installing, programming, and troubleshooting AC drives, DC drives and AB Logix5000 series Programmable Logic Controllers.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient problem solving and creative thinking skills.
  • Strong maintenance background.
  • Familiarity with instrumentation including HART communications.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Gas fired combustion system exposure desired.

Responsibilities

  • Be involved in the design of manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives of manufacturing methods.
  • Work together with craft employees in a Union environment.
  • Act as a resource for technical guidance to manufacturing personnel.
  • Assist in justification of new equipment.
  • Interface with other manufacturing departments to address and resolve technical issues.
  • Adhere to Arconic EH&S, quality, continuous improvement, and other company policies.
  • Perform an integrated role as direct support of the Maintenance Organization.
  • Respond to trouble calls on a 24/7 basis.
