About The Position

The Electrical Technical Lead is responsible for Electrical repair work, Electrical skill building, Electrical projects, and Electrical technology for the entire site. The Electrical Technical Lead will be the expert for Electrical work at the site and will focus on long term health and continuous improvement of Electrical systems, components, and skills. The Electrical Technical Lead reports to the Maintenance Department Manager, and has responsibility for all maintenance work, cost, downtime, and documentation. In this role, you will: Ensure that all equipment is maintained in safe operating condition. Repair Electrical equipment to restore production. Drive continuous improvement in Electrical downtime, component life, and cost. Build and develop Electrical skills in other maintenance staff. Build and develop Electrical skills in operational staff. Coordinate with contractors to ensure safe execution of contractor work. Coordinate with leadership and the maintenance planner on equipment priorities. Stay informed and skilled on new Electrical technology. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors. Develop, update, and improve technical documentation. Maintain maintenance shop, tools, and facilities at standard. Flow to the work as needed to support successful business operations.

Responsibilities

  • Modify, maintain, or repair electronics equipment or systems to ensure proper functioning.
  • Replace defective components or parts, using hand tools and precision instruments.
  • Set up and operate specialized or standard test equipment to diagnose, test, or analyze the performance of electronic components, assemblies, or systems.
  • Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, or engineering instructions for assembling electronics units, applying knowledge of electronic theory and components.
  • Assemble, test, or maintain circuitry or electronic components, according to engineering instructions, technical manuals, or knowledge of electronics, using hand or power tools.
  • Maintain system logs or manuals to document testing or operation of equipment.
  • Compile and maintain records documenting engineering schematics, installed equipment, installation or operational problems, resources used, repairs, or corrective action performed.
  • Integrate software or hardware components, using computer, microprocessor, or control architecture.
  • Provide user applications or engineering support or recommendations for new or existing equipment with regard to installation, upgrades, or enhancements.
  • Install or maintain electrical control systems, industrial automation systems, or electrical equipment, including control circuits, variable speed drives, or programmable logic controllers.
  • Execute PM work orders and create work orders for issues found during PM inspections.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, improve, and maintain all equipment including all electrical components, drive systems, conveyors, processing equipment, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, utilities, etc.
  • Utilize shop equipment, measurement and other diagnostic tools, and power and hand tools to assess the condition of new and used equipment.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and vendor developed programs.
  • Become SAP proficient to pull weekly work schedule and evaluate work orders and concerns to escalate appropriately to ensure scheduled work can be completed.
  • Prepare maintenance daily reports using activity logs, analysis, and trends.
  • Attend daily shift meetings to discuss prioritized work orders and minimizing downtime.
  • Enforce safety policies and procedures.
  • Confer with other shifts and departments to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
  • Interpret specifications, job orders and company policies and procedures for team members.
  • Direct and coordinate the activities of team members engaged in the production or processing of goods.
  • Conduct team member training in equipment operations or work and safety procedures.
  • Recommend or implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality or efficiency.
  • Review and reconcile system data as needed, create reports, and perform root cause analysis.
  • Ensure all team members are able to troubleshoot equipment safely and effectively.
  • Work with other shifts and departments to schedule and ensure timely and safe completion of routine and preventative maintenance for area equipment.
  • Other duties as needed to support business operations as directed by Management.
