About The Position

AAE Automation who builds electrical panels for oil and gas industry, water filtration industry, etc is about to obtain a large client that will require more electrical panel building workers than what they have right now. They are looking to add 1-10 depending on how much they get. Should know within the next 2-3 weeks how many, but he really wants us to get ahead of and see what type of candidates are out there. Even if he doesn’t know how many he will need, he promised me he would set up interviews with any qualified candidates we present. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Electrical Panel Builder to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing electrical control panels and switchgear systems based on engineering drawings, schematics, and layout diagrams. This position requires hands-on experience with electrical components, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in electrical technology or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in electrical panel building or industrial electrical assembly.
  • Detailed, as they are dealing with very minuscule parts and wires
  • Strong understanding of electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Proficient with hand and power tools used in electrical assembly.
  • Ability to read bills of materials (BOM) and follow work instructions accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use ERP or production tracking systems.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and layout drawings.
  • Assemble and wire electrical control panels, junction boxes, and enclosures according to specifications.
  • Mount components such as relays, circuit breakers, PLCs, terminal blocks, and other hardware.
  • Cut, strip, crimp, and route wires neatly and securely.
  • Perform point-to-point wiring and verify proper connections and labeling.
  • Inspect and test completed panels to ensure compliance with quality standards and functional requirements.
  • Troubleshoot wiring errors or component failures during assembly and testing.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve design or build issues.
  • Assist with inventory control and material management related to panel components.
