About The Position

The Electrical Field Engineer is responsible for the power network and equipment of the Plants operated and maintained by our client. Key Responsibilities: • Overseeing Status and well-functioning of MV and LV • Power network and Switchgear • Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) • Reduced Voltage Soft Starters (RVSS) • DOL starters • Auxiliary equipment, e.g., UPS, Generators, aux battery DC supply • Develop and follow up on the Maintenance Repair and Replacement Plan (MRRP) for electrical equipment • Develop proposals for required upgrades if needed • Develop a migration work plan for discontinued equipment models • Propose actions, upgrades, and modifications to ensure the reliability of the plant power network and equipment. • Configure and commission new drives • Lead the diagnostics equipment and repaired faulty equipment. • Provide engineering support to electricians in routine preventative maintenance • Evaluate preventative maintenance work orders and reports and propose improvements where necessary. • Liaison with vendors, sub-contractors, and electricity providers. • Prepare and upgrade records, including drawings.

Requirements

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • Experience with MV/LV equipment in the manufacturing industry, preferably the process industry or generating plant.
  • Experienced with configuration, commissioning, and the maintenance of both MV and LV VFDs, RVSS, and switchgear
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an equivalent position, preferably in a continuous process or generating plant.
  • Strong analytical skills focused on LV VFDs, RVSS, and switchgear diagnostics and maintenance.
  • Familiar with AutoCAD.
  • Ability to work in a demanding and busy environment.
  • Ability to work independently, involving fieldwork and ability in traveling to other Plant sites when necessary.
