About The Position

RFA Engineering ( www.rfamec.com ) is an engineering service provider dedicated to delivering our clients with timely engineering support and expertise. We are seeking an experienced candidate to become an integral part of our engineering team. The selected candidate will work with an experienced engineering staff using state-of-the-art engineering tools & processes. This position will operate onsite at our customer's world-class engineering and manufacturing facility. Electrical Systems Engineer The Electrical Systems Engineer will be responsible for the design, integration, and support of cab-based electrical systems and components. This role includes leadership of design activities, coordination with global engineering teams, and ownership of components from concept through production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or related field.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with professional and shop-floor teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Creo (especially cable routing and print creation)
  • Experience with CHS/Capital Harness systems
  • Familiarity with electrical communication systems, software architecture, and CAN/Ethernet
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Positive attitude with a desire to learn and collaborate within a team environment
  • Decision-making and problem-solving capabilities

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for cab electrical systems including wiper motors, beacon and work lights, interior/exterior lighting, radios, and antennas.
  • Lead the investigation and implementation of new technologies and components.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, CAD models, and technical specifications.
  • Lead and participate in technical design and change reviews.
  • Prototype new parts, perform fit-ups in the X-Shop, and support physical builds.
  • Interface with global vehicle teams including electrical, software, sheet metal, and operator station groups.
  • Lead supplier meetings to manage action items and drive development forward.
  • Communicate design intent, timelines, and issues clearly across internal and external teams.
  • Manage component releases, Engineering Team Notifications (ETNs), and product promotions.
  • Support build events including Mule, Durability, and Start of Production (SOP).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical system issues during design and build phases.
