Requirements

  • Minimal five years of electrical experience, trade, or college degree. Supervisory experience, extensive electrical skills, and knowledge necessary.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of electrical codes, plant and electrical equipment, electric shop mathematics, and electrical equipment used in the plant and on locomotives, power shovels, and other operating equipment.
  • Works with high and low tension, single and multiple phase power lines and panels.
  • Must be proficient in the use of equipment such as voltmeters, amp meters, indicators, and test equipment and instruments.
  • Will have the responsibility of managing the procurement of materials process as well as managing contractors.

Nice To Haves

  • Unrestricted Electrical License in the State of NC preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Electrical Maintenance Program. Provides oversight for the electrical maintenance program for the North Carolina market.
  • Supervises and directs electricians and helpers as assigned.
  • Coordinates with the Engineering Department and Operations Managers on new electrical projects and modifications.
  • Assign duties for installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment, such as motors, generators, switches, control panels, circuit breakers, electric safety devices, resistors, electro-magnets, motor drives, transformers, magnetic breaks, starters, etc. in shop facilities and at plant sites.
  • Prepare diagrams or sketches, often of a complicated nature, for work to be performed. Recommend design changes as needed.
  • Troubleshoot electrical power issues and prepares and coordinates plans, supplies, and crews to resolve issues. Maintain power supply lines as required.
  • Devises electrical circuits involving solenoids, switches, resistors, relays, and other "state of the art" equipment.
  • Conducts CEM Training.
