About The Position

Weyerhaeuser Company is searching for an Electrical Supervisor for the Zwolle Engineered Lumber Products (ELP) facility located in Zwolle, Louisiana, the gateway to beautiful Toledo Bend Lake. Zwolle is located on the Louisiana/Texas border in west central Louisiana. This position plans and leads the daily activities of a small team of electricians in the areas of safety, quality and maintenance for all equipment and buildings in order to meet the departmental and unit goals. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager. The individual will be responsible “in assisting” team meetings & trainings, identifying safety, environmental, quality & production issues, coordinating activities with production team to maximize productivity and minimize cost, reducing waste and taking measures to proactively address all concerns. Additionally, the individual leads the team by proactively resolving employee issues, builds teamwork, and ensures adherence to all applicable site policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner. Key Functions: Primary responsibility of leading a team of electricians to meet departmental and unit goals in equipment and building safety, quality and maintenance. Also, will implement preventive and predictive maintenance methods and systems to reduce unscheduled downtime and utilize reliable troubleshooting methods to ensure production volume, quality and overall uptime goals are met. The supervisor will plan, develop, manage and provide effective leadership for the maintenance team through: Ensuring the safety of all associates by identifying safety issues and taking measures to proactively address concerns Actively supervising and developing the electrical maintenance team to ensure effective communication across & between shifts and with the production teams Utilizing preventive maintenance systems to reduce unscheduled downtime Efficient use of reliable troubleshooting methods to ensure uptime, production volume and quality goals are met Effective use of training resources to maximize team technical skills Use computer-based programs to support effective prioritization of maintenance requests, manage maintenance inventory, and delegate maintenance resources

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering/Process discipline- Electrical engineering preferred
  • Minimum 1-3 years experience in a supervisory role in an industrial environment or successful internships during college
  • Ability to lead a team to a high level of safety performance
  • Work related experience in leading and ensuring compliance with safety initiatives
  • Desire and ability to manage people and projects
  • Knowledgeable in the areas of electrical, mechanical and PLC programming
  • Interest in preventative and predictive maintenance systems
  • Ability to read and understand electrical, loop, drives system schematics
  • Ability to identify root cause of problems and effectively initiate immediate corrective action to prevent reoccurrence
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and electronic communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to raise performance by building and maintaining positive relationships with all associates through coaching, development and instilling a continuous improvement mind-set
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic, good judgment and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
  • Must have track record of consistently demonstrating leadership skills as well as positive influence and accomplishments in proactively influencing safety, environmental, quality, productivity and people development
  • Demonstrated basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Office, other windows based programs and internet skills
  • Must be able to accept and respond to after hour's calls
  • Must be willing to work a weekend adjusted schedule
  • Excellent communications (verbal and written) to include technical writing and presentations
  • Working knowledge of business and financial concepts
  • Demonstrated results in achieving and sustaining business goals

Benefits

  • This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $82,500 to $123,800 based on your level of skills, qualifications, and experience.
  • You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 7%25 of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.
