In the role of Plant maintenance electrician/instrumentation controls electrician working in Wheat Ridge, CO you act as the primary support role for electrical controls, electrical components and mechanical repairs throughout the plant. Advanced troubleshooting of Electrical and Mechanical systems in complex processes. This position's primary responsibility uses hand tools, power tools and precision measuring and testing instruments to repair and maintain, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and manufacturer's specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment, such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment. Requires troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems using ladder logic, electrical prints and/or schematics, with PLC’s, VFD’s, HMI’s, electrical controls, relay logic and software, etc. as well as mechanical theory and practical application of system function. Works as an Electrician and Mechanic in a widely skilled multi-craft role. Serve as a trainer, coach and resource for the area team and actively participate in Area DDS-DMS meetings and execution of the maintenance plans. Utilize WCSC autonomous maintenance and proactive tools (CILs, CLs, DH, etc.) Requires interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with all teams across the organization. Awareness of safety concerns while working around or near high-speed equipment, mobile equipment and temperature extremes. Reading, interpreting, and "red lining" mechanical, electrical and P&ID prints. Drives improvements in equipment reliability, availability, and maintainability that optimizes asset life cycle. Perform Lock Out Tag Out and Try Out of equipment, NFPA 70e compliant entry of electrical panels with proper use of PPE. Knowledge and skills to maintain and repair production equipment, power transmission devices and rotating equipment (e.g. gears, gearboxes, bearings, seals, conveyors, palletizers, strappers, stretch Revised 9/27/2022 wrappers, inspection equipment etc.), electrical controls and facilities infrastructure (when needed). Equipment adjustments, calibration and laser alignment, thermography, Ultrasound. Computer skills as follows: Windows, MS Office, MS Outlook, and SAP. Troubleshooting and diagnostic repair of controls systems such as: PLC5, SLC500, ControlLogix, Device Net, Profibus, Intellution iFix, Panel View software, current and, VFD’s of various manufactures, relay logic and controls wiring. Ability to work overtime and any shift as required. This is a 4x4, 12 hour, rotating monthly shift. Work closely with Maintenance leads for parts ordering and BOM placement. Provides input on work order weekly/monthly scheduling. Leads the daily direction of distribution and completion of planned work orders. Supports breakdown efforts as needed. Provide direction for redline information to PMs. Drive process improvement incentives from start to finish working alongside METs, Senior Process Lead, Maintenance leads and Project Engineer. Provides input on and creates SOP's and work instructions.
