About The Position

As an Electrical Special Projects Technician at Switch, you will be part of a world-class team that operates in excellence, delivering mission-critical solutions that redefine whats possible in AI, cloud and enterprise data center needs. In this role you will be an active member of the installation team focused on the installation of electrical infrastructure as required for customer installation.

Requirements

  • Must be a licensed Electrical Journeyman in the state of employment.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Abie to express ideas clearly, concisely and effectively with contractors performing maintenance or upgrade work on systems installed in the data center environment.
  • Able to utilize good initiative, analytical skills and sound judgement to solve problems and make decisions.
  • Able to effectively interface and communicate with the operations and construction teams on a daily basis.
  • Able to work with direction and work independently with an interest in quickly learning and applying new skills and abilities.
  • Able to identify and prioritize tasks and plan workload effectively.
  • Self-motivated to help and learn in all areas of our department outside their direct supervisor position

  • A willingness and ability to work hard with a sense of urgency and a respect for deadlines.
  • A Background in electrical service/maintenance with a minimum of 4 years of electrical experience or 4 years working in Switchs Construction Department.

Responsibilities

  • Installation of liquid tite, receptacles, installation of colored wire per electrical code, termination of breakers in RPP, testing, sending of code sheets and installation of grounding infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with customers and other departments for the installation of service related electrical installations.
  • Directly communicate with upper management in regards to install schedule and assigned daily tasks.
  • Directly interface with customers regarding support tickets requests.
  • Ensure that all assigned tasks are completed with an acceptable level of cleanliness.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on all work completed.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and communication for all Customer Service opportunities.
