About The Position

This position is for a Construction Electrical Supervisor on a contract basis for 12+ months at a Nuclear Plant in Surry, VA. The role involves ensuring that scopes of work are properly planned, reviewed, and executed in a timely manner, leading and managing crews, performing constructability reviews, and ensuring safety is the number one priority on all sites.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years as a construction electrical supervisor experience
  • Nuclear Electrician experience 5-10 years preferred
  • Must be able to pass the nuclear background, drug screen and obtain and maintain a nuclear site red badge
  • Must have a NCCER Industrial electrician certification or equivalent experience
  • Experience in new construction and maintenance modifications
  • Problem Solving skills
  • Scheduling to include creating logic ties
  • Installation of Conduit and Supports
  • Installation of copper and fiber cables
  • Cable terminations and modifications
  • Installation of power and control panels/switch gear
  • Ability to use a multi meter to include Live-Dead-Live
  • Raychem splicing of low voltage
  • Electrical safe work practices
  • Clearance order verifications
  • Temporary power installation
  • Experience in nuclear power as JM electrician
  • Must be able to pass an on-site industrial electrician proficiency test
  • Knowledge in use of computers, communications and simple database functions

Responsibilities

  • Ensure scopes of work are properly planned, reviewed and executed in a timely manner
  • Look ahead at upcoming work and provide input to the design as necessary to resolve issues
  • P6 schedule reviews and provide input to durations, logic and status updates
  • Lead and manage crews to ensure work is being carried out safe and error free
  • Layout Project work and assure readiness
  • Perform constructability review/walkdown of engineering design documents and provide feedback for correction to the design
  • Review and stage materials to support the 6 week schedule look ahead
  • Understand all drawings, contract documents, and quality documentation
  • Work collaboratively in a TEAM environment and interface with site CM, PM and direct reports
  • Verify that all drawings, submittals, and specifications are accurate
  • Report daily, weekly and monthly on progress, quality control and safety
  • Facilitate the Request for Information (RFI) process with the EPC and site engineering
  • Perform inspections of equipment being installed to verify it's done correctly and per the scope of work and specifications
  • Review project completion documentation
  • Interface with project's designated safety, engineering and quality control parties
  • Help facilitate field commissioning and turnover
  • Create good relationships with the EPC and others on site
  • Ensure that safety is the number one priority on all sites
  • Understand and follow all company rules and policies
