About The Position

As an experienced Electrical Service Technician, you will work with customers to troubleshoot electrical equipment issues, create solutions, and ensure a smooth interaction, all while upholding the integrity of Wood-Mizer's core values. Additionally, when a customer service call or defect occurs in the field system or over the phone, you will analyze, find, and fix electrical problems.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma, High School Education, or Equivalent is required
  • 4-7 years of prior experience in customer service areas and working with the public are required.
  • 4-7 years of prior experience with service in the manufacturing field or a similar field.
  • Mechanical Aptitude (High proficiency)
  • 12-volt DC electrical knowledge and experience. (High proficiency)
  • Reading Electrical Schematics (High proficiency)
  • High-voltage AC electrical experience, up to 480V 3ph. (High proficiency)
  • Knowledgeable in the operations of PLCs. (High proficiency)
  • Knowledge of Hydraulic Systems: Must understand fluid flow inside a closed system. (High proficiency)
  • Typing skills, telephone skills, and computer literacy (Medium proficiency)
  • Working knowledge of Word and Excel. (Medium proficiency)

Nice To Haves

  • A trade school certificate in electronics or any related field is preferred
  • 4-7 years of prior experience with service in the manufacturing field or a similar field. Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot High-voltage and low-voltage DC equipment; up to 480-voltage AC.
  • Knowledgeable in the operations of PLC's, HMI's, AC Drives and VFD's.
  • Interfaces with customers regarding technical and electrical aspects of the organization's products or services.
  • Relays customer feedback regarding products to appropriate personnel in sales, quality assurance, and product management.
  • Provides problem resolution and troubleshooting to customers over the telephone and in the field.
  • Assists with product updates.
  • Determines the best method to resolve complex technical and electrical issues to ensure customer satisfaction while ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to the organization's policies.
  • Provides guidance, training, and instruction to non-technical representatives.
  • Determines parts to order for repairs and timeliness of need and documents service-related activities.
  • Complete certification material as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
