Join us to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact as a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer on our Engineering Technologist team in Austin, Texas. What you'll achieve Dell is looking to add a Senior Level Electrical System Architect to support Innovation Halo products. These products create the achieve the unachievable. We are seeking candidates with deep knowledge in PCB design, product integration, emerging wireless technologies, and a creative mind that can bring true innovation concepts to the discussion. You will be a senior technical resource in all areas of product design. You must be well versed in the core electrical engineering skills in order to affect system-level design and represent the team at cross-functional reviews. Your ability to productize designs is also critical and you should be able to design products and/or solutions that enhance Dell's ability to deliver services to clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with 14+ years of work experience in design of electronics packaging
  • Extensive experience in designing complex electro-mechanical assemblies with an expert understanding of block diagrams, schematics, layouts, electrical analysis, power analysis, thermal dissipation, PCB stack-ups, PCB cost optimizations
  • Possess strong communication skills (written and oral) with other company team members and the customer as required and have experience speaking and influencing at an executive level
  • Have extensive experience with CAD systems (Gerber experience required)
  • Familiar with x86 or ARM platform design and good relationship with industry key technical provider

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with electro-mechanical engineering and software engineering along with experience with SOC package design and power topology

Responsibilities

  • Provide electrical engineering insights and conceptual ideas to influence product roadmaps
  • Identify, scope, and manage projects addressing new opportunities and technology risks
  • Execute complex system designs, gather requirements, and perform thorough engineering analysis
  • Engage ODM partners for requirements and mentor junior engineers to build expertise
  • Independently design using ECAD tools and generate intellectual property to safeguard innovation
