About The Position

The Electrical Instructor will play a critical role in training and developing Hi Power apprentices. This position requires extensive experience as an instructor, the ability to create and implement original curriculum, and a strong technical background. The ideal candidate will hold at least a Journeyman Wireman (JW) license, demonstrate deep knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), and have experience incorporating safety and quality control standards into training programs. This hybrid role combines classroom instruction with on-site mentorship and quality control evaluations.

Requirements

  • Licensure: Minimum Journeyman Wireman (JW) license required; Master Electrician preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 2+ years as an instructor in electrical or related technical fields.
  • Proven ability to create and implement original curriculum.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of NEC, electrical systems, and construction practices.
  • Safety & QC: Experience with safety standards and quality control processes is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Development: Design, develop, and maintain original training materials, lesson plans, and assessments aligned with industry standards and company goals.
  • Classroom Instruction: Teach electrical theory, NEC topics, and hands-on skills in structured classroom settings.
  • Hands-On Training: Conduct monthly and 8-week practical labs to reinforce learning.
  • Evaluation & Feedback: Grade assignments, provide constructive feedback, and track apprentice progress.
  • Field Support: Visit job sites weekly to observe apprentice work, mentor in real-world conditions, and submit quality control reports.
  • Safety & Compliance: Integrate safety protocols and quality assurance practices into all training activities.
  • Collaboration: Communicate regularly with Training and Operations teams to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
