Purpose: The Senior Project Manager has responsibility for coordination, communication and customer satisfaction on ensuring projects assigned are completed on time and within budget.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering/Construction Mgmt./Architectural & Construction Eng Mgmt. (Construction, Service) or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Eight years of progressively responsible experience for a commercial/industrial electrical contractor
  • Ability to understand electrical codes and standards
  • Ability to understand construction means and methods
  • Ability to understand and interpret blueprints
  • Proficient in various computerized estimating systems and all Office Applications (Accubid preferred)
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and organize multiple projects
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to exercise attention to detail
  • Possesses strong organizational capabilities
  • Strong accounting skills and financial aptitude
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and through written format
  • Able to work in an office where the job performance may require a long time sitting or standing
  • Ability to wear job-specific required PPE as needed
  • Must be able to drive to various customer sites as required

Responsibilities

  • Directly oversees assigned projects of any size from start to finish ensuring quality and timely completion
  • Ensures delivery of equipment, materials, and tools
  • Plans and schedules resources with Superintendent to meet project expectations
  • Provides direction to field staff in terms of task management
  • Evaluates project costs ensuring project remains on/under budget, provides updates to Operational leadership as needed
  • Prepares, presents and tracks Change Orders, Purchase Orders and other necessary documentations
  • Processes and maintains proper written documents needed for projects
  • Serves as a liaison and conduit between architects, contractors, and owners, etc
  • Conducts site visits on a regular basis
  • Actively develops and identifies opportunities; assists in marketing activities
  • Leads contract review and management
  • Provides Pre-Con with support in relation to bid reviews, spec reviews, interviews, quotation reviews
  • Responsible for thorough understanding and execution of project scope, financials and installation
  • Manages subcontractors and fosters healthy subcontractor relationships
  • Accurate reporting of project financials (WIPs)
  • Performs account management functions as necessary
  • Oversees and directs project closeouts
  • Performs other duties as assigned
