About The Position

The Project Engineer 1 is responsible for assisting in the planning, development, and coordination of on-site construction activities for large, extensive projects. This position is a key technical role on projects and may be involved in multiple projects of varying sizes and complexity.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in electrical system design, engineering, or installation
  • Technical knowledge of Electrical system design and operation
  • Knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods required
  • Experience with contract documents (contract drawings, subcontracts, contract addendum, specifications, and change orders)
  • Experience reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications, and applicable Local and National Electrical Code requirements
  • Strong computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Office products (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Knowledge of basic mathematical operations and calculations (e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, order of operations) to calculate labor, materials, and/or cost estimates for projects and work orders, etc.
  • Must have the ability to effectively read, write, and communicate in the English language at a 12th-grade level
  • Must possess a valid Florida Driver's license in good standing to meet the company's driving requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Journeyman or Master Electrician License
  • Experience in Revit, AccuBid, Bluebeam, Auto CAD

Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled labor duties related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment, including but not limited to:
  • Responsible for the development of coordination and electrical layout drawings.
  • Responsible for coordinating with the Estimating Department to quote change orders and with accounting to ensure accurate job information is available to management.
  • Assist in the review of shop drawings to ensure their compliance with contract documents.
  • Ensure project engineering activities comply with company and contract requirements and support the overall schedule.
  • Provide technical support for construction efforts, including; participating in construction planning and design, interpretation of design, interpretation of technical specifications, application of construction methods, resolution and documentation of design conflicts, constructible reviews, etc.
  • Develop, implement, and administer standard procedures and other work-controlling documents.
  • Represent the company, project, and/or department during A/E, client, and project management meetings.
  • Communicate with all on-site departments to resolve any problems.
  • Ensure the project stays on schedule while following safety and quality guidelines and TCE policies and procedures.
