Our Forensics practice investigates problems in the built environment and provides evidence-based solutions founded on rigorous science and physics. We assist attorneys, property managers, building owners, contractors, manufacturers, and design professionals with a wide range of engineering and architectural issues. The Role Our Forensics Practice is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer with an interest in electrical forensic investigations, litigation support, risk and loss consulting, and repair and retrofit design. This role is ideal for someone who is naturally curious, technically strong, and an effective writer. You will lead investigations across the built environment, including commercial buildings, industrial facilities, transportation systems, and high-tech applications. You’ll collaborate with and be supported by a diverse, multidisciplinary team ranging from entry-level engineers to senior leadership, while taking ownership of projects and contributing to both technical and client-facing work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required
  • 4+ years of experience in electrical design or related work
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
  • Strong technical writing skills and the ability to clearly communicate engineering opinions supported by sound analysis
  • Ability to collaborate across disciplines, manage deadlines, and work independently
  • Willingness and ability to travel to project sites for short durations as required

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage projects and support senior engineers on complex MEP and forensic assignments
  • Conduct field investigations, site assessments, and technical analyses
  • Evaluate property conditions, determine extent and scope of damage, and identify causes of failure
  • Perform National Electrical Code (NEC) and building code reviews and analyses
  • Assess construction defects and professional standard of care
  • Prepare clear, well-supported technical reports that communicate engineering findings and conclusions
  • Work directly with attorneys, property owners, contractors, and insurance professionals
