About The Position

The Electrical Construction Project Engineer is a key member of the project delivery team and is primarily responsible for supporting and coordinating all aspects of electrical construction within industrial, commercial, and manufacturing facilities. This role will be assigned to job sites and will ensure that construction work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with engineering design, project schedule, cost targets, and quality standards. The position requires proactive communication with the client, general contractor, subcontractors, AHJ, and internal project team members to facilitate smooth construction execution from mobilization through commissioning and project close-out.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of field experience in Electrical Construction within industrial or commercial facilities.
  • Successful participation in at least three (3) electrical construction projects throughout major phases of execution.
  • Knowledge of NEC, NFPA standards, electrical installation means & methods.
  • Strong skills in: Field coordination and execution tracking Material procurement and subcontractor control Cost and schedule reporting
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • Proficient in BIM review softwares (Navisworks, Bluebeam, Revit)
  • AutoCAD or equivalent drafting capability
  • Familiarity with MS Project or Primavera P6
  • Strong presentation and reporting skills

Responsibilities

  • Represent the electrical scope on-site as the primary engineering interface to clients and general contractors.
  • Oversee day-to-day field activities, resolve installation issues, and ensure work methods follow approved drawings and project specifications.
  • Review IFC drawings, submittals, shop drawings, and BIM models to support constructability and clash resolution.
  • Perform site inspections, verify as-built conditions, and update red-line drawings.
  • Identify technical discrepancies and issue RFIs for resolution.
  • Support system testing, energization, and commissioning activities.
  • Conduct field inspections, ensure quality control of electrical installation, and verify compliance with project standards and codes.
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractor activities including daily work assignments, performance evaluation, and schedule alignment.
  • Hold subcontractors accountable for safety compliance, workmanship, and productivity goals.
  • Track manpower loading and resource utilization to ensure alignment with schedule milestones.
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and track actual material quantities installed.
  • Prepare progress billing documentation and manage monthly pay applications.
  • Issue purchase orders, track material procurement, expedite delivery schedules, and verify compliance with project specifications.
  • Monitor cost exposures, change order requests, and maintain cost-control logs.
  • Conduct Daily Toolbox Meetings with all electrical field teams.
  • Maintain and submit daily safety records, incident logs, JHAs, and OSHA-related documents.
  • Ensure full compliance with OSHA guidelines and company safety programs.
  • Identify safety hazards and implement corrective/preventive measures.
  • Prepare and distribute Daily, Weekly, and Monthly progress reports including manpower, schedule performance, material status, and site photos.
  • Maintain a complete document control system including RFIs, submittals, transmittals, change orders, permits, and approval records.
  • Support the preparation of project turnover packages including test records, O&M manuals, and as-built drawings.
  • Assist in reviewing baseline schedule, look-ahead planning, and recovery actions when delays occur.
  • Coordinate long-lead item delivery sequencing to avoid schedule impacts.
  • Participate in coordination meetings with GC, client, subcontractors, and AHJ.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and actively participate in inspections conducted by the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
  • Maintain close communication with inspectors and promptly address comments, corrective actions, or non‐compliance issues.
  • Support permitting and inspection scheduling with municipal officials.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA codes, industry standards, and project contract requirements.
  • Support punch-list identification and timely resolution.
  • Assist with testing, energization approvals, and final project turnover documentation.
  • Assist estimating team with future bids by performing quantity takeoffs, work scope breakdown, and vendor quotations.
  • Participate in lessons learned review and share improvements for continuous company growth.
