Purpose: The Project Engineer is responsible for providing Project Managers with administrative support and coordinating procedures related to all phases of project work.

Requirements

  • Two years of prior experience in construction management project support; or, Bachelor’s degree in Construction management or related field
  • Proficient in Office software. MS Office and Bluebeam
  • Proficient with construction accounting systems
  • Possess strong organizational skills and can plan and coordinate multiple projects
  • Effectively communicate both verbally and through written format
  • Ability to maintain rapport with customers and employees
  • Able to work in an office where the job performance may require a long time sitting or standing
  • Ability to wear job-specific required PPE as needed
  • Must be able to drive to various customer sites as required

Responsibilities

  • Attends project turnover and kick-off meetings
  • Contributes to job setups and commodity material buyouts
  • Helps manage all submittal packages, log statuses and follow ups until all materials released
  • Updates and maintains required logs; RFI’s, CO’s, Submittals, O&M, Materials etc
  • Manages document control for all assigned projects
  • Assists with site-specific programs such as Safety and Quality Control
  • Develops, maintains and audits job files, ensuring continuity
  • Monitors material returns and tracks credit memos
  • Provides the Project Manager with any required reports
  • Assists in estimating and cost analysis options
  • Responsible for compliance with all Uihlein SOPs
  • Develops and tracks labor production vs. work % completed and provides projection analysis
  • Ensures all closeout documentation is complete
  • Assists the project team with take-offs, scheduling and labor forecasting
  • Performs other duties as assigned
