We are looking for an Electrical Project Engineer to be a part of our growing Construction division in Seattle, WA. In this role, you will assist with the management of projects, including the field operations, quality control, safety, documentation, fiscal performance and other complex components.

  • Assist the Site Superintendent with leading field operations.
  • Serve as the on-site point of contact for client, subcontractors, vendors and field personnel.
  • Validate completed work prior to Quality Control inspections to ensure substantial completion.
  • Assist the Site Superintendent with verification of work progress and ensure information is captured in the daily reports.
  • Uphold and communicate McKinstry safety standards.
  • Assess site safety and implement actions to prevent injury to property and personnel.
  • Obtain detailed knowledge of contract, drawings, and specifications for project(s).
  • Oversee the scheduling and coordination of trades.
  • Maintain drawings, daily correspondence with trades, schedules, RFI logs, Submittal logs, Observation logs, and Superintendent Daily logs.
  • Create and respond to Requests for Information (RFI).
  • Collaborate with subcontractors to assemble site-specific work plans.
  • Process, review, log and distribute submittals.
  • Maintain as-built drawings.
  • Assist with documentation of Quality Control inspections and observations.
  • Coordinate site walks, quality inspections, etc. with McKinstry project team, subcontractors, Quality Control, and client as applicable.
  • Document existing conditions with notes, photographs, video and ensure information is uploaded to project management software.
  • Create and publish Operations and Maintenance Manuals for client.
  • Maintain cost issue logs.
  • Coordinate with Safety Program Manager to create and communicate site safety plan.
  • Assist in development of Scope of Work for subcontractors.
  • Coordinate equipment procurement with Construction Manager and outside vendors to order and expedite material.
  • Review and substantiate subcontractor billing.
  • Draft subcontract and purchasing agreements.
  • Assist with client billings.
  • Assist in preparation of monthly project accounting review.
  • Manage to ensure accuracy of change log.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • BA/BS degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Facilities Management or comparable degree—or equivalent work experience required.
  • Two (2) years of progressive project responsibilities in Project Engineer role required.
  • Knowledge of construction management, commercial building process required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Project required; working knowledge of Point preferred.
  • PE, LEED professional designations preferred.
