We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Power System Engineer to join our team.  Summary Description: The Electrical Power System & E/I Reliability Engineer is responsible for the monitoring of the plants power system, planning power system maintenance work, troubleshooting power system issues, high voltage lock and tag planning and execution, system maintenance planning and execution, generator monitoring and work planning, and interface with ISO-New England and Central Maine Power for the mills Interconnect Agreement compliance. The electrical power system engineer will also work with the mills area E/I group on certain issues that may arise on the area-based power systems.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of power distribution systems, substations, transformers, and switchgear
  • High-voltage electrical system troubleshooting and maintenance proficiency
  • Experience with protective relays, relaying schemes, and power system safety protocols
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, single line diagrams, and technical documentation
  • Working knowledge of generator controls, instrumentation, and power generation systems
  • Familiarity with PLCs, DCS, and industrial control systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and maintenance systems (SAP preferred)
  • Understanding of NFPA 70E and 70B, OSHA electrical safety requirements, and lockout/tagout procedures
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
  • Ability to plan and lead maintenance activities and coordinate cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering technology, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent industry training and experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience working with high-voltage electrical systems in an industrial or utility power environment

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate safety as a core value and establish a safe work environment by actively leading the safe execution of work
  • Working with area E/I personnel to diagnose and repair issues
  • Identifying predictive maintenance needs for planned power outages
  • Facilitating power system predictive/preventative maintenance programs in SAP
  • Applying and expanding new technology and industry learning’s toward the work of equipment and process reliability improvement
  • Support any power system issues
  • Capital project support for power needs to numerous capital improvements
