About The Position

Sierra Lobo, offers customers a full range of professional and technical capabilities, including Test and Evaluation, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Technologies. We also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems. Our customers include the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). This position is located at our Milan Ohio facility OVERVIEW Junior or Journeyman Electrical Engineer with 0-4 years’ experience in electrical power design and/or distribution or other related industrial systems in the support of wind tunnel test facility refurbishment. Working in a team environment, collaborating to meet the project goals and timeline.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEET) Degree from an ABET accredited college or university, or equivalent
  • Should be a naturally analytical and inquisitive person and capable of working in both a team and solo environment.
  • Fluent in a variety of programs and software relevant to industrial electrical power design.
  • Comfortable with troubleshooting, debugging and instructing others in this skill set.
  • Excellent communication skills in the English Language (verbal and written) and phone skills.
  • Ability to hear normal conversation. One eye (minimum) correctable to 20/20.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all applicable Company, Customer and Industry safety standards and practices.
  • Familiarity with NFPA and IEEE standards as applied to electrical systems desired.
  • Interaction and updates with Integrated Product Team (IPT) mechanical and electrical leads in the development of new electrical distribution and process systems.
  • Interaction with technicians and field personnel in providing technical support.
  • Ability to research and inquire from experienced personnel about the function & characteristics of existing irreplaceable equipment.
  • Under the supervision of Senior staff, develop electrical systems ranging from Substation secondary 4160 voltages to 120-volt distribution.
  • Support the development of design narratives, system drawings, equipment specifications, technical studies, and reports as required.
  • Use planning, analytical and product design software tools such as AutoCAD electrical, MS Project, MS Excel and MS Word.
  • Provide electrical design inputs in support of project schedules.
  • Create and deliver concise technical status/summary reports to the team.
  • Prepare and present design reviews for internal and external customers.
  • Apply best design practices that drive process improvements.
  • Support the quality checking and revision of the project deliverables.
  • Complete assigned projects on time and on budget.
