THE ROLE: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Panel Builder to join our team at our Holland, Michigan facility. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing both standard and custom electrical control panels that power and operate our specialized equipment. You will work from electrical schematics, diagrams, and engineering drawings to ensure that each panel meets design specifications, safety standards, and customer requirements. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our machines by delivering high-quality, precisely built control systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical components, wiring techniques, and hands-on experience in panel building or a related field.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in electrical panel assembly, wiring, or related industrial electrical work
  • 2+ years of experience reading and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
  • Strong understanding of electrical components, color coding, and wiring techniques.
  • Familiarity with NEC (National Electrical Code), UL standards, and general safety practices.
  • Proficient with hand and power tools used in electrical assembly.
  • Basic computer skills; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) is a plus.
  • Good attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced, production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Follows all policies and guidelines regarding workplace safety and product quality
  • Receives components or items for assembly and/or test in programmed sequence
  • Assembles or tests electrical components by means of sensitive hand and equipment coordination.
  • Will assemble all variations of in house standard products, as well as complex custom products
  • Follows clear assembly/test instructions, e.g. color code, NEC and UL codes/standards
  • Uses simple hand or power tools along with complex jigs and fixtures
  • Enter work hours in ERP system (SAP)
  • Drives continuous improvement process and conducts daily housekeeping/5S audits to ensure continuous improvement activities.
  • Will be reading complex schematics, ladder diagrams and point to point drawings.
  • Maintains equipment and area in a clean safe condition.
