Job Summary: The Facility Electrical Operations Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of electrical systems and equipment within facility infrastructure. This role involves inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems to support operational continuity and compliance with safety standards. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical expertise in commercial electrical systems, follows established safety protocols, and maintains accurate maintenance records.

Requirements

  • Electrical technician certification, license, or relevant technical qualification.
  • Proven experience with commercial or industrial electrical systems and equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical safety codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with electrical testing equipment, tools, and instruments.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to document maintenance activities accurately.
  • Physical ability to perform hands-on electrical work, including climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative maintenance team.
  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with management, staff, and contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, test, and maintain facility electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, circuit breakers, panels, motors, and other operational equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical faults, performing timely repairs to minimize downtime and operational disruption.
  • Install, repair, and replace electrical wiring, lighting fixtures, outlets, switches, and other electrical components in accordance with blueprints and technical specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with all electrical safety codes, regulations, and industry standards, including OSHA requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electrical maintenance records, service logs, and documentation of inspections and repairs.
  • Collaborate with facility management, contractors, and other maintenance personnel to coordinate electrical projects and upgrades.
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of electrical system improvements, energy efficiency initiatives, and modernization projects.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment to identify potential issues before they impact operations.
  • Respond promptly to emergency electrical issues to ensure safety and a rapid resolution.
  • Stay current with advances in electrical technology, codes, and best practices relevant to facility operations.
