The Electrical Mechanical Technician performs all duties and responsibilities required of an Electrical Mechanical Technician V. With minimum supervision, this role involves maintenance functions on equipment, machinery, and buildings, including constructing machine components and performing plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work.

  • Perform all duties and responsibilities required of an Electrical Mechanical Technician V.
  • Follow proper procedures with minimum supervision in maintaining buildings, machinery, and equipment.
  • Repair electrical systems, motors, fork lifts, air conditioner equipment, etc. as necessary.
  • Overhaul gear drives and motors, punch press drives, and clutches.
  • Construct machine components as required.
  • Perform electrical work including attachment of machines to electrical circuits and inspect control panels on equipment.
  • Perform general building maintenance duties as required.
  • Construct and repair structures and fixtures from wood, plywood, and wallboard following written or verbal instructions.
  • Troubleshoot, repair and service hydraulic systems, including changing valves and other similar adjustments.
  • Move and install machinery as required.
  • Conduct diagnostic and trouble-shooting inspections of equipment and make adjustments, repairs as necessary.
  • Recommend improved methods or alternatives to machine operations.
  • Operate welder, oxyacetylene torch, drill press, woodworking machinery, and lathe.
  • Use volt-ohm meters, pipe threading equipment, and small hand tools.
  • Operate forklift as needed.
  • Complete paperwork as required including job cards, inspection reports, logs, etc.
  • May be called upon to work late evenings, early mornings, or other unscheduled hours to perform necessary emergency repairs.
  • Keep work area neat, clean, organized, and under control.
  • Be responsible for quality and safety of own work and compliance with all company procedures and policies.
  • Repair, refurbish, or install pneumatic controls.
  • High school education with two or more years of experience in industrial maintenance.
  • Associate's degree in industrial technology with emphasis in industrial maintenance and two or more years of experience in industrial maintenance.
