Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electronic components of machinery and equipment. Install, modify, repair, maintain, troubleshoot, test, and load new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, and associated fixtures, controls, and equipment. Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment. Installs power supply wiring and conduct for newly installed machines and equipment, conveyors, and programmable controllers, following electrical code, using hand tools and voltage tester. Repairs and maintains, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment, such as die units, glue units, conveyor systems, bindery equipment, etc. using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments. May repair or reproduce parts using welders or machine tools such as drill presses, or other machine shop equipment. Follows electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications. Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment, using hand tools and test equipment. Replaces AC/DC motors. May plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings. Detects malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, using test equipment, and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables, using hand tools. May diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment. Perform tasks safely in accordance with OSHA and LOTO standards.
