About The Position

The Manager, Electrical Engineering, is responsible for leading electrical engineering initiatives across the Reese manufacturing campus. This includes oversight of capital projects, process improvements, and maintenance strategies that enhance equipment reliability, safety, and operational efficiency. The role requires strong technical leadership in electrical systems, controls, and automation, as well as strategic collaboration with cross-functional teams. Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Expertise with Allen-Bradley PLC platforms (ControlLogix, SLC, PLC5), PanelView, and PanelView Plus.
  • Strong understanding of industrial networking, control safety systems, and motor control.
  • Experience with SAP (3-5 years preferred).
  • Proven leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Proficiency in bid solicitation, project management, and engineering documentation tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, use hands and arms, speak, and hear.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage electrical engineering projects from concept through execution, including budgeting, ROI analysis, and timeline adherence.
  • Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting and root cause analysis of electrical systems including PLCs, HMIs, servo systems, and power distribution.
  • Oversee installation, maintenance, and optimization of plant electrical and control systems.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance and Operations to improve equipment uptime, reliability, and safety.
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA 70E, OSHA, and Hershey safety standards.
  • Develop and maintain electrical documentation including single-line diagrams, ladder logic, and control panel layouts.
  • Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for capital projects involving electrical and controls architecture.
  • Mentor and guide technicians and junior engineers in electrical best practices and troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate with external contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Support digital systems integration and OT network reliability.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on electrical systems and automation.
  • Manage interactions with local, state, and federal agencies regarding electrical compliance and standards.
