About The Position

FAIR-RITE PRODUCTS CORP. is seeking an Electrical Lab Technician to maintain the electrical lab and equipment, set up and perform electrical tests for quality control, process control, and product/material development. The position is based in Wallkill, New York, and operates Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • 2 years training or related experience.
  • Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical test equipment including LCR Meters, Q Meters, Impedance Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Calipers, Micrometers, etc.
  • Working knowledge of PC / Computer including Windows, Excel, Word, etc.
  • Good communication, organization, and mathematical skills.
  • Must be dependable, accurate and thorough.
  • Self-driven motivation to meet demanding time schedules.
  • Interpretation of specifications and part prints.
  • Ability to operate CMS / ERP system effectively.
  • Ability to read and understand blue prints.
  • Ability to use data collection / SPC.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree in related field (i.e. Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology).
  • Vocational / Technical Education or Technical Training Certificate with 1 year training or experience.
  • Previous electrical lab experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain laboratory and equipment, as well as develop and specify new tests and equipment.
  • Inspect powder release toroids and shield beads by evaluating and comparing results to current specifications.
  • Routinely perform dimensional, visual and electrical inspection of parts using various measuring devices to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Establish and write test procedures as well as provide training for Q.C. Inspectors.
  • Analyze data/results and make decisions, including appropriate people in decision-making process when necessary.
  • Provide support to Q.C. inspectors and electrical lab inspectors.
  • Evaluate new materials and products routinely.
  • Prepare and maintain required inspection records.
  • Must follow all applicable Work Instructions as well as laboratory scope.
