About The Position

KEP Electric, a division of IES Residential, is a leading provider of electrical services specializing in residential new construction projects in the Ohio area. We are seeking an experienced and skilled Journeyman Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential electrical work, with a focus on installing and troubleshooting electrical systems in new single-family homes, multi-family projects, and light commercial. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or equivalent work experience.
  • Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in residential electrical work, preferably in new construction.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and electrical plans.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment in new construction projects.
  • Perform electrical rough-ins and trim-outs in accordance with National Electrical Code (NEC) and company standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical plans to determine the layout and placement of wiring, outlets, switches, and fixtures.
  • Collaborate with contractors, builders, and project managers to coordinate electrical work and ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and identify and resolve issues or malfunctions in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others on the job site.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials used, work performed, and hours worked on each project.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients to provide updates, discuss project requirements, and address any concerns or questions.
