Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-7 years of hands-on experience in commercial, government Electrical trade
  • DC or Maryland current Journeyman's license
  • Possess a current, valid driver's license (not under limitations)
  • High School diploma or equivalent desired
  • Supervise and train apprentice electricians and serve as a mentor
  • Advanced electrical systems training and manufacturing training
  • Extensive technical knowledge of Electrical service and installation
  • Work at various heights above ground and depth underground surface
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background and drug screening

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair or replace refactors, lamps, screw, bolts, washer, luminaries, photocells and associated streetlight equipment
  • Use graphic illustrations such as blueprints, schematic drawings and layouts in order to properly locate, install and repair street lighting equipment
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes
  • Install, inspect, and test electrical distribution systems and components
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot faulty wiring and electrical systems
  • Install and connect circuit breakers, electrical switches, and outlets
  • Identify electrical problems using a variety of testing devices
  • Follow OSHA and other applicable standards
  • Troubleshoot equipment, electrical systems and control circuits
  • Read blueprints or technical diagrams to determine the layout of electrical systems
  • Follow specifications on blueprints or technical drawings
  • Wear proper attire at all times including PPE
  • May be required to work extended hours including evening, night and weekends
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
