Inspect electrical and ITS construction activities to ensure compliance with VDOT standards, plans, specifications, and contract documents Verify installation of traffic signals, signal controllers and cabinets, roadway lighting, CCTV cameras, vehicle detection systems, dynamic message signs (DMS), travel time systems, and RWIS devices Inspect conduit systems, pull boxes, foundations, poles, cabinets, wiring, grounding, bonding, and service connections Ensure compliance with NEC, NESC, MUTCD, VDOT ITS Architecture, and VDOT Traffic Engineering standards Assist with signal turn-ons, system integration, burn-in periods, and final acceptance testing Prepare VDOT-compliant Daily Work Reports (DWRs) and inspection documentation using VDOT systems (e.g., Site Manager / iPM or current VDOT platforms) Coordinate inspection activities with VDOT project engineers, residency staff, contractors, utility companies, and local agencies Participate in project meetings, field reviews, and inspections Ensure compliance with VDOT Work Area Protection Manual (WAPM) and approved traffic control plans
