About The Position

Atlas is seeking an experienced Electrical Inspector in Gresham, OR to support construction of the Bull Run Filtration Facility, a multi-billion-dollar water treatment infrastructure project serving the greater Portland metropolitan region. This role will provide comprehensive inspection oversight of electrical power distribution, control systems, instrumentation, and communications infrastructure from rough-in through final commissioning. The Electrical Inspector will work under the direction of the Atlas Quality Control Supervisor and coordinate closely with mechanical, structural, and commissioning teams to ensure full compliance with contract documents, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred; equivalent field experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 58 years of electrical inspection or industrial construction experience.
  • Experience inspecting medium and low voltage power systems in industrial, heavy civil, or water/wastewater facilities.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, panel schedules, and control schematics.
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Experience witnessing and documenting electrical testing procedures.
  • Ability to work full-time onsite in an active heavy civil/industrial construction environment.
  • Ability to pass criminal background, MVR and drug screen upon offer.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily onsite inspections of electrical installations including:
  • Medium and low voltage power distribution systems
  • Switchgear, motor control centers (MCCs), and panels
  • Transformers and standby power systems
  • Grounding and bonding systems
  • Conduit routing and installation (above and below grade)
  • Cable tray systems
  • Instrumentation and control wiring
  • SCADA and communication infrastructure
  • Verify installations comply with approved drawings, specifications, single-line diagrams, and panel schedules.
  • Review and interpret electrical shop drawings and submittals.
  • Witness and document electrical testing including:
  • Insulation resistance testing (megger)
  • Continuity testing
  • Grounding verification
