About The Position

As Electrical Inspector, you will enforce the National Electrical Code and the applicable state code through inspection of various types of buildings; communicate code requirements to the public, contractors and local officials; and investigate cases of non-compliance and report appropriately.

Requirements

Equivalent to high school plus additional specialized training.
Possess and maintain driving privileges in the State of Oregon.
Must possess State of Oregon "A" Level Electrical Inspector Certificate and State of Oregon One- and Two-Family Dwelling Electrical Inspector Certificate.
Must also possess State General Supervisor’s Electrician License.
Must obtain an Oregon Inspector Certification (OIC) within the first month of employment.

Nice To Haves

Four-year degree in Electrical Engineering.
Work experience in the trade.
Experience in Building Inspector positions.
Proficiency with intercultural communication, including the ability to read, write, and speak Spanish or Russian.
Additional Certifications: Oregon Inspector Certification, Residential Structural Inspector, Residential Plumbing Inspector, Residential Plans Examiner, or a combination of any other Oregon Code Certifications and/or ICC Certifications.
