About The Position

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Electrical Inspector to join our team! In this role you will get to enhance project quality by conducting detailed electrical inspections and offering technical guidance that ensures safe, compliant, and reliable installation.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident
  • High School or Trade School diploma required; technical degree or engineering‑related degree preferred.
  • 7–10 years of field experience as an electrical inspector in construction or industrial environments.
  • In‑depth knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, NFPA 70/70E, electrical installation standards).
  • Strong field experience with industrial electrical systems including switchgear, MCCs, grounding/bonding, conduit, instrumentation, and controls.
  • Proficient in data review, analysis, and preparation of technical documentation.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and other QC documentation tools.
  • Ability to guide others in inspection techniques, code interpretation, and QC processes.
  • Strong communication skills, able to collaborate with subcontractors, Quality team, engineers, and project management.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • USACE Construction Quality Control (CQC) Certification – required.

Nice To Haves

  • Construction management experience preferred, particularly involving field coordination or subcontractor oversight.
  • Prior USACE project experience preferred, including familiarity with government QA/QC expectations.
  • Experience reviewing subcontractor testing and quality documentation.
  • Experience in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving electrical installation deficiencies.
  • ASQ certification (CQE, CMQ/OE) preferred.
  • Discipline‑appropriate certifications (e.g., ICC Electrical, NICET, NFPA, IAEI, IEEE, NETA) considered advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex electrical inspections to verify compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, and client requirements.
  • Serve as a technical resource, providing guidance and subject‑matter expertise to less experienced QC Inspectors.
  • Support electrical Quality Control program implementation, contributing to inspector training and procedure development.
  • Conduct inspections, tests, and examinations of electrical systems and document results with clarity and accuracy.
  • Plan and prepare for inspections and tests, including setup and configuration of electrical test equipment.
  • Review and evaluate inspection findings and test data, and communicate results effectively to project teams.
  • Inspect and audit subcontractor electrical work and their associated quality documentation.
  • Perform first‑article and in-process inspections, including potential source inspections at vendor facilities.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Participate in inspector qualification programs and contribute to QC certification activities.
