Electrical Inspector - General Electrical, Remote, Central Southern USA Intertek, a leading provider of ATIC (Assurance, Testing, Inspection, and Certification) Services, is looking for an Electrical Inspector - General Electrical, Remote, Central Southern USA to join our Electrical team reporting to our Plano, TX office. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 5 years of experience in the construction or electrical trades.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
  • Ability to work independently to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to adhere to site PPE requirements and work safely on an active construction site.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to be responsive and provide good customer communication and service.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, with hours ranging from 0 to 40 per week.
  • Must have access to the internet.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to travel 75% as needed, including air and overnight travel.
  • Ability to travel internationally, as needed.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable driving record.
  • Experience working with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Ability to lift/carry at least 40 pounds.
  • Ability to climb at least 30 feet.
  • Ability to work with various levels of noise.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience preferably as an Installer, Technician, Electrician, Contractor or Electrical Inspector.
  • An associate or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections of electrical systems on systems as required by applicable NFPA and UL standards.
  • Complete reports summarizing the inspection work completed onsite.
  • Make judgments regarding compliance in terms of applicable standards.
  • Communicate and coordinate with clients while planning visits to work locations.
  • Perform other work as required.
