About The Position

Intertek, a leading provider of ATIC (Assurance, Testing, Inspection, and Certification) Services, is looking for an Electrical Inspector - Field Evaluations, Remote, Northeast USA to join our Electrical team reporting to our Boxborough, MA office. The Electrical Inspector position is responsible for performing field inspections of electrical systems to ensure compliance with applicable standards, issuing reports, and communicating with clients. This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship. This is a remote position; however, applicants must reside in and be able to legally work in the United States.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years of experience in the construction or electrical trades, preferably as an Installer, Technician, Electrician, Contractor or Electrical Inspector.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
  • Ability to work independently to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to adhere to site PPE requirements and work safely on an active construction site.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to be responsive and provide good customer communication and service.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, with hours ranging from 0 to 40+ per week.
  • Must have access to the internet.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to travel 75% as needed, including air and overnight travel.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable driving record
  • Ability to lift/carry at least 40 pounds.
  • Ability to climb at least 30 feet.
  • Ability to work with various levels of noise.
  • Applicants will be required to complete an I-9 to verify their eligibility to work in the U.S.
  • This is a remote position; however, applicants must reside in and be able to legally work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical field.
  • PE License

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections of electrical systems on systems as required by applicable NFPA and UL standards.
  • Complete reports summarizing the inspection work completed onsite.
  • Make judgments regarding compliance in terms of applicable standards.
  • Communicate and coordinate with clients while planning visits to work locations.
  • Perform other work as required.
