About The Position

As an Electrical/I&C Design Engineer at Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant your role will be to provide engineering evaluations and documentation to support plant modifications and owning those plant changes which includes installation and closeout activities. In addition, you will be expected to investigate emergent equipment failures and provide creative solutions when applicable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Engineering Field required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
  • Minimum 6 yrs. relevant job experience
  • Experience in Electrical and/or I&C systems is preferred.
  • Digital Experience desired
  • Prior plant system engineering experience, including experience with electrical, and I&C components, is preferred.
  • Being able to work independently with little supervisory involvement is preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong analytical ability.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with ability to make formal technical presentations to various management levels.
  • Team - work and collaboration skills across organizational boundaries
  • Able to communicate complex issues effectively through written and verbal communication
  • Able to influence by establishing effective working relationships across organizational boundaries
  • In-depth understanding of power plant equipment and system interrelationships.
  • Able to evaluate technical alternatives in light of their economic contribution to the business
  • Able to apply systematic problem - solving processes to address complex issues

Responsibilities

  • Serving as a design qualified engineer in Electrical or I&C systems in support of plant design changes.
  • Providing solutions for Problem Solving, Decision Making, Troubleshooting.
  • Preparing technical engineering products: reports, evaluations, and design changes to the plant.
  • Developing and completing investigations and corrective actions in accordance with the Corrective Action Program.
  • Performing field walk-downs and interfacing with other groups to resolve emergent and routine plant issues.
  • Reviewing schedules and maintenance work orders to ensure efficient work implementation/scheduling.
  • Championing system design change improvements and enhancements.
  • Actively seeking formal and informal learning opportunities to better understand technical policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Develop effective working relationships with other departments and employees within you own work group to establish a professional network
