About The Position

Located in the Ozark, MO Fabrication shop, the Electrical Helper will report to the shop superintendent or foreman and assist electricians with electrical installation. They help prepare materials, tools, and equipment to support the completion of electrical projects. What's in it for you? Requirements

  • Install electrical control and power wiring.
  • Properly use hand benders and electrical benders for large conduits.
  • Instruct apprentices on basic concepts of bending and installing conduit and wire, and completing terminations.
  • Set up, label and pull wire for control and power wiring.
  • Properly terminate panels and disconnect motors, sensors, and other devices.
  • Coordinate materials storage as well as what is required to complete projects.
  • Apply power to test completed units.
  • Coordinate with other electrical and shop personnel to accomplish project goals within the Fabrication schedule and estimated costs.
  • Performs other duties and activities as assigned.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction.
  • Must be able to use electrical and hand tools.
  • Ability to exert up to 70 pounds of force (pulling, pushing, lifting, carrying, etc.).
  • Ability to balance, sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, handle, and grip for 12 or more hours while working, driving, etc.
  • Ability to work at heights and around moving machinery, including vibrating machinery, and the ability to tolerate environmental conditions consisting of heat, cold temperatures, noise, vibration, fumes and dust.
  • Ability to operate trucks and lifts safely and adhere to all company safety requirements.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception, either naturally or with the aid of eyeglasses.
  • High schoold diploma or equivalent required.
  • Vocational/technical school training or apprenticeship required.

Nice To Haves

  • Two of five years of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist electricians in installing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems and equipment.
  • Carry tools and materials to worksites.
  • Measure and cut wires and conduit.
  • Perform basic electrical calculations.
  • Assist with troubleshooting electrical issues.
  • Clean and maintain tools and equipment.
  • Document work performed, and communicate progress to team members.
  • Follow safety procedures and protocols.
  • Follow assigned work instructions, mainly verbal.
