About The Position

Amazon Leo is an initiative within Amazon that aims to revolutionize global connectivity through the development of a state-of-the-art Low Earth Orbit (LEO) interconnected satellite communication constellation. The Amazon Leo Government(ALG ) Engineering organization is a multi-disciplinary technology team established to rapidly address the needs of targeted government and international customers with specific solutions that have the potential to scale. ALG Engineering leads the development and delivery of targeted and scalable solutions for custom space and terrestrial applications. ALG collaborates closely with Amazon Leo to leverage the constellation of advanced satellites to provide seamless and efficient communication capabilities to meet the needs of our customers. The ALG Engineering team is seeking highly technical and talented individuals who are passionate about creating unique solutions that result in a positive impact on a global scale.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hardware development, test lab, space/aerospace maintenance or hands-on engineering environment experience
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work well with teams of hardware and software engineers
  • Experience using common electronics test equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generators, etc)

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Test Infrastructure & Rack Integration Rack Architecture: Architect and assemble test racks, integrating PXIe chassis, programmable power supplies, and switching matrices for electrical support equipment. Interconnect Systems: Execute "clean" wiring using custom-labeled looms and EMI shielding. Design breakout boxes to interface the Unit Under Test (UUT) with instrumentation.
  • Validation & Hardware Analysis ATE Development: Design and build custom test fixtures and Automated Test Equipment for PCBA and full-system validation for recurring builds. Precision Debugging: Characterize performance and signal integrity using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators to resolve complex hardware issues.
  • Communications & Governance Protocol Management: Configure and troubleshoot instrument communication buses, including GPIB, LAN (LXI), and PXIe. Technical Documentation: Author Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and meticulous test reports to ensure data-driven flight readiness. Security Clearance: This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and candidates may be requested to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance of TS/SCI.
