About The Position

The Electrical Foreperson at Amentum is responsible for overseeing the operations and maintenance of electrical systems in an industrial environment. This role involves prioritizing work based on client needs, ensuring timely completion of tasks, and maintaining documentation. The Electrical Foreperson also leads safety initiatives, manages maintenance activities, and provides training for employees, while acting as a subject matter expert in electrical maintenance and troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 6 years' experience as an electrician in an industrial environment or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience in a supervisory or subcontract management capacity in a technical industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to analyze Facilities Maintenance related problems and determine solutions.
  • Ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational/time management skills.
  • Current Ohio Electrical Journeyman license.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of facility maintenance management.
  • Associate's degree in an Industrial Electrical or related skilled trade program.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain current and future facility electrical systems.
  • Manage reactive/corrective maintenance and distribute tasks to technicians.
  • Lead safety program and maintain safety reporting.
  • Audit work performance for safety and quality, providing coaching as needed.
  • Review new job requests to differentiate between in-scope and non-scope work.
  • Maintain effective performance of individual employees and the worksite team.
  • Review and approve time reporting.
  • Compile, maintain, and present various reports to management and client teams.
  • Support facility electrical expansion projects.
  • Adhere to Federal, State, and Local electrical codes and NFPA70e standards.
  • Collaborate with electrical service companies, engineers, and facility leadership to ensure optimal grid performance.
  • Maintain and improve control systems, install electrical sub panels/services, and buss plugs as needed.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair process/production machines and related electrical equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with site management and customers to solve complex electrical problems.
  • Identify and correct safety-related issues and perform equipment evaluations.
  • Procure parts from crib systems, OEM, or authorized vendors.
  • Document cost savings and recommend reliability improvements.
  • Provide instruction, mentorship, and training to less skilled technicians.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on process/production equipment as scheduled in CMMS.
  • Respond to work orders and ensure compliance with codes and regulations.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving them.
  • Enforce company policies and safety regulations, including job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Operate various measuring, diagnostic, and testing instruments for energy efficiency solutions.
  • Utilize hand tools, laptop computers, and diagnostic hardware to perform work.
  • Maintain a strict schedule while demonstrating flexibility in daily activities.
  • Exhibit strong leadership skills, including motivation, delegation, and communication.
  • Promote and adhere to the Amentum Safety Structure.
  • Assist with Root Cause Analysis.
