About The Position

The Electrical Foreman will oversee all aspects of commercial electrical construction projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards and local electrical codes. This role involves managing manpower, ordering materials, and scheduling inspections to ensure project completion.

Requirements

• Electrician certification or equivalent experience.
• Experience in commercial construction.
• Proficient in schematic reading and blueprint reading.
• Strong skills in inspection and inventory management.
• Ability to bend conduit and perform electrical wiring tasks.
• Experience with NEC and NFPA compliance.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to prepare sketches or follow diagrams/blueprints.
• Proficient in using hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to detect and repair faults in electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan layout, install, and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment.
• Plan new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials and provide access for future maintenance.
• Install system components and wiring in compliance with the NEC and NFPA.
• Prepare sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follow diagrams or blueprints.
• Cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit using various tools.
• Pull wiring through conduit.
• Splice wires by stripping insulation and twisting or soldering wires together.
• Connect wiring to control and distribution apparatus, fastening in place with hand tools and power tools.
• Connect power cables to equipment and install grounding leads.
• Test continuity of circuits to ensure electrical compatibility and safety.
• Observe functioning of installed equipment to detect hazards and need for adjustments.
• Repair faulty equipment or systems as needed.
• Assess and adjust priorities to meet project requirements and objectives.
• Ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects.
