About the position

As a Senior Electrical Estimator at W3Global Inc, you will leverage your technical knowledge and strong communication skills to ensure construction or manufacturing projects are completed within budget and on time. Your role involves assessing project scopes, organizing estimates, conducting take-offs, pricing, and maintaining client communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Assess project scope by reviewing documentation such as blueprints and specifications.
  • Evaluate project feasibility based on resources and potential risks.
  • Organize estimates by breaking them down into labor, materials, and time requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather input for estimates.
  • Conduct accurate take-offs to determine quantities of materials and labor required.
  • Review project plans to ensure all details are accounted for, including special conditions.
  • Utilize cost databases and vendor quotes to establish pricing for labor and materials.
  • Obtain subcontractor quotes for specialized work and incorporate them into estimates.
  • Factor in potential risks and apply contingency allowances or escalation factors.
  • Ensure accuracy of estimates by cross-referencing quantities, unit prices, and labor hours.
  • Have estimates reviewed by other estimators or senior management for oversight.
  • Communicate the final estimate to clients clearly and concisely.
  • Address client questions and provide clarifications as needed.
  • Regularly update clients and management on project progress and any changes in scope.
  • Finalize documentation once the estimate is accepted and monitor actual costs during project execution.
  • Assess the accuracy of estimates post-project completion to improve future estimates.

Requirements

  • Senior level experience in estimating for construction or manufacturing projects.
  • Proficiency in On-Screen Takeoff and Electrical Bid Manager software.
  • Strong attention to detail for accurate calculations.
  • Analytical thinking to identify risks and adjust estimates accordingly.
  • Excellent communication skills for client and team interactions.
  • Effective time management skills to handle multiple estimates and deadlines.
